So my 55 growout tank will be setup for my fish in the next week as my houses remodeling is being done tomar. The fish going in the 55 growout will be a loiselli cichlid, and a wolf fish. These 2 fish have been sharing a 20 gallon long for the past week and a half or so. The only aggression I have seen has come from the loiselli and not the wolf. The wolf is about 7 inches and the loiselli is about 6. The other fish that will soon join them in the 55 will be a jag whose only 3 inches and a clown knife who is about 6 inches. The fish I have in other tanks are a 2 1/2 inch jd and 2 silver gars(hujeta gars). These 3 fish i feel are the outcast in my stocklist. All fish will be moved into my 150 i just purchased from my uncle. I will be trading the 3 fish in tomar and was wondering what I could add with my other fish. I was thinking a flowerhorn, another jag, another gar type fish, or any other ideas you may have. I want something that can defend itself if needed.

hmmm , I really do not know bro, a flowerhorn would be nice , there are quite a few that I am thinking of but I am just unsure if they would work out for ya .

So the definite "in" fish are jag, lois, wolf, CK correct? You could try adding another jag (or maybe a mota just to vary it up a bit), I would choose a texas or similar over a FH, some of them turn out to be killers. I doubt any gar will work, either true gar or any of the false gar/characin "gar looking" fish.

Short term watch out for your little jag with that lois and particularly the wolf.

Ok well the gars are out. Yes the definate fish staying are the jag, wolf,ck,and loiselli. Flowerhorn would be nice never owned one b4. Feel freel to tell me what fish your thinking of i'm open to anything. Tank size is 150 and i know the ck will probly outgrow it a few years from now

I went to the lfs and talked to someone who i know knows more than me. He said tha i should keep the hujeta gars and grow them out b4 i put them in the tank. So we will see what happens. Still looking for ideas on another tankmate. Another jag is looking good right now

If you like the hujetas I would keep them, the cichlids might leave them alone. But they grow slow so be ready for a long stay in the growout tank...I want to add some with my group but I have more peaceful cichlids, sevs, eartheaters, stuff like that.
