Well I have been a long time lurker but figured after this tragedy I would post and get your guys opinions since you all have so much knowledge. Well to make a long story short I had a 55 gallon at my college house and I had gone home for four days. Well I get back and my 15 mbuna cichlids are dead floating along with my synodontis eupterus. Apparently the power had gone out for almost all of the four days I was gone and no one felt it necessary to give me a heads up about this. Extremely mad about that  but I guess I have to get over it. Now my question to you guys is what should I do for my 55 gallon tank now? Would love to hear your guys ideas on stocking. I love the looks of the green terrors, but from my research one would have to be the only inhabitant of the tank, not completely against this idea but would like to have a more community/schooling tank maybe. Although if I find the right monster for the tank, green terror or something you guys might suggest I would be completely open to it. So lets hear your ideas guys. Thanks in advance.

In a 55, the option of cichlid community is quite limited. A large group of exodon would be excellent to see;but they are a bit expensive...

A solo gt is a great idea actually, you can have a syno cat as his tank mate.

15 mbu in a 55? What size?

Buy a 59$ battery backup and ONLY hook ur bubbler to that, should provide about 96 hours of power, if ur tank isn't overstocked that should keep the water oxygenated for 4 days.

They were about 2-4 inches, I think they big problem was the house got quite hot without any air conditioners and I imagine that heated the water up quite a bit causing the water to have less oxygen in it over the time period.
