I could almost have made this post this evening! Couldn't find my Violet Goby anywhere, which is unusual as I have a rather active one and he never hides for long. Searched the tank high and low, moved everything, got under the cabinet with a flashlight and searched the sand...nada. Gave him up for dead, although I couldn't figure out how my fish could have disposed of him without a trace in the span of one day since I last saw him.

Was making one last attempt to find him when I bumped the canister spray bar off of its attachment and out he flew. The endcap on the spray bar got knocked off and the idiot decided that was a great tube to slither into. Sheesh!

Sorry you were not as lucky! :( Poor fish.
