How long is the longest period you've had to starve arot o train him to take market prawns? I have 1 8 inch arowana i've been trying to get to eat market prawns, but so far its really stubborn, even after 16 days, still won't eat the prawns. Any tips?

Wait till the aro is bigger at least foot... then strave it for week. It will be on prawns so fast... might be cheaper to feed it smelt.
i have 2-14' black aro and 1-16' silver and all three was able to take market prawns in couple attempt. I used to feed them different food like dry shrimp, sticks, mill worms and gold fishes.
Make sure to remove the shells of the prawns, no heads, and use small size or you can cut them into half size.

Yes shells are full of nutrients and fine for larger arowana. Heads and tail spikes need to be removed as they could cause internal damage to the arowana.

finally got him to take prawns, but it has to be with shell, he doesn't want them without shell, shoul dhave tried to feed him with shell earlier.
i guess different aros have different preferences , i used to have another aro which won;t take prawns with shell.
