I am thinking of starving my Green Sunfish so he will take pellets. He is fed everyday. How long should I starve him before giving him pellets?

They should start accepting pellets within a few days, Mine started eating pellets 2 days after I brought it home lol.

Can't be as bad as black crappie. I have been trying to pellet train mine for 6 months. Eats wax worms and minnows out of my hands, but won't even take shrimp out of my hand.

He takes the pellets, and mouths them for a few seconds them spits them out. He seems to like the appearance, and is willing to take them, but he ust not like the taste of the pellets.

Typical sunfish behavior. They hit anything that hits the surface of the water.

My green liked freeze dried bloodworms at first. What I did was put some cichlid sticks in the bloodworm container and let them sit in there overnight. When I offered them the next day, he took em immediately.

If they get hungry enough, they will take them. Maybe you could try a softer pellet

I do use a soft pellet. It says it absors water quickly and softens up, and I can see it softens as soon as it hits the water.

Thanks! I will put a few in with his mealworm case overnight. Maybe that will work.
