hi all just to check the longest period of days to b starving my jardini as i've seen from post that there's member starving their aro for like 2-3wks so wana ask for advice here as i do not wish to find my aro dead one day when i goes home..

yes i've tried starving mine for 2days + and it still refuse to eat it.. some member suggested starving it longer and i read thread saying that they have starve their aro for like wks so was thinking how long is the maximum period that i should starve mine..

how big is your aro? if its a baby, i wouldnt try to train it yet. wait for it to get a little bigger then you can starve it for a 1-2 weeks.

ailachami: it's around 5-6 inch.. it has been on live food when i got it but manage to get it on krill for just 1 day of starving.. now was intending to mix krill and stick for his diet for better nurtition?? any suggestions?

i've tried that. but mine just refuses to eat the sticks for like 2 days so i was trying to ask for advice/suggestions as from what i read from other thread is that there's member who starve theirs till weeks.. or perhaps i should let it stick to krill for the moment 1st and only start training it when it's slightly bigger??

Try live mealworms...good for small arowana, and he will beef up quickly...try to feed one right in front of its face....Its easy to get him to eat sticks once it starts eating mealworms. hikari food sticks look similar and it should start hitting the sticks pretty soon after.

Edit: This is not my opinion, this was told to me by my local LFS store owner when I bought my first Jardini three weeks ago. He was three inches when I got him and he ate the mealworms right away. The next week he was eating the food sticks. Now he is eating both for his diet.
