i need some advice from ray experts
i cut the shrimp to chunks that would fit in their mouth but it seem they are having a hard time chewing it. they would lift up and try to chew real hard then spit out. is it because they do not like the shrimp yet or is it because the chunk fit their mouth but they couldn't get it down their "throat" (if they had one that is).

Probably not use to the taste yet. My rays ate earthworms like candy so I cut up some worms really small and mixed them with the cut shrimp. It took a couple of feedings but they all took to the shrimp and now that is the main food they eat. They learn to swallow the chunks whole. My 5" babies are eating chunks over 1/4 inch in diameter with ease.

cool, thanks for the advice i was worry it was too big for them. i broke down and went to wally world to get some night crawler , drop 1 in they, they all got freaked out and ran away when they touch it lolz, litterally scared the **** out of them.

Most rays take some time before they will eat a whole worm, especially a night crawler. I have a 6 inch ray that will eat whole night crawlers. It took a week to get him there using bigger pieces each feeding. Some take right to it. What is your ray eating now?

they were on blackworms. but i decide to switch them to shrimp so they have been on that for 2 days now. i can telll they're quite hungry but they 're not taking alot of the shrimp. a chunk here and there is all.

Takes time to get them on shrimp, cut into real small pieces and starve them out for few days. If they dont eat remove the food after 10 minutes and try again the next day.

ok, gonna starving seems to work for most popele, gonna try that , most i starved them was for the whole day, will try 2 days
