(this might be a stupid question but...) what kind of memory does a fish have...? if i kinda splash around very lightly on the surface of the water with my finger before every feeding, will the fish be able to associate that with food...?

You don't need (and it's not recommended with Ps) to splash your finger to get a pavolian response from your P's. They'll quickly learn what the "Food Guy" looks like and react to your entering the room. My Ps went nuts if they saw me holding a paper bag. They associated the bag as the carrier of their feeders.
Its an interesting idea but what do you do when you have them trained and you run out of fingers?

When i had my Pygo's they would recognize my silouette against the tank and the same go's with the fish i keep today. As soon as they see me lift up the hood's on the tank and see me stood there in front of the tank they go NUT'S my Aro as soon as i drop a prawn in he's practaly jumping out the water.

Yup, they use to say a Goldfish had only 3 minutes of memory...apparently this has been proven to be false...all fish are quite smart at getting food...or they be dead

just wanted to know cause my buddies keep puting there fu*kin dirty fingers in my tank and saying "aww look at these little p*ssy fish,they wont even bite..." ya know!!, so instead of knocking them out like i want to... i'd rather they just got bit by my fish... f*ck em if they cant take a joke...
