hi all, i have a small group of five of these little guys, all between one and a half and three inches. lately i have definitely seen a couple of them fighting, but also two in particular who are always kind of swimming slowly around eachother, putting their fins on display, that sort of stuff. a lot of time they do this nose to tail thing as well...are they thinking about doing it!?? lol. i'm really hoping these guys and gals will breed for me...anybody have any experience with them? things to look for in breeding behavior? any advice would be appreciated as always

With julies provide plenty of hiding spaces, some food, and not too much disruption and soon you'll see lots of babies hanging out in the rocks. I've had up to 3 generations in the same tank. Adding some Lamp. compressiceps is a good way to thin the herd.

They breed in pairs so additional adult julies are often driven away by a pair (or set up as pairs in another pile of rocks).

Give it time and remove anyone who seems to be getting beaten...

well, they have all that stuff, (including a yellow compressicepps), so hopefully they'll start up sometime soon... i guess i'm less worried about the compressicepps than i am about my tretacephalus
