transferring Goliath Tigerfish?

so in the next couple of weeks going to transfer my gatf to bigger tank, but i cant even turn the light on without him bashing himself. So how the hell am i going to net him without him killing himself?

Maybe lowering the water level til he can't swim and just scooping him up? How big is he?

Is the room pitch black when the lights are off?....When I have to move big fish that violently don't want to be bothered I just wait them out and move them at night after the lights have been off for a few hours and they are asleep.They still might put up a fight but it is minimal.

This plus use a clear plastic bag at that size. He'll swim right into it at somenpint and you can pick him up and move him without hurting him.
