Within the next week hoperfully I will be moving the peacock bass to the new aquarium, I will use water from the old tank for sure, and I will be transferring the fluval 405 on the current tank (90g). My question is, should I start running the fx5 on the current tank to have it seeded with bacteria by the time that it goes on the new aquarium? I also plan to put some of the bio media from the 405 into the fx5 during the transfer.

yep...just run the fx5 in the 90gal for a week or two.

Thats how id do it.. run the new Fx5 on your current tank, it should help with the cycle process once you switch it over..

hmmm, this is slightly frustrating, the rim connector took me about a half an hour to figure out how to connect on the bigger taank but trying to put them on the 90 is seemingly impossible, it is to narrow to go directly over the rim but the rim doesnt extend far enough in for the clip to go sideways on it, hard to explain but if you have an fx5 you probably know what I am talking about. Anyone else have this problem with it and have a solution?
