Was hoping to get some input on transporting several 6-8 inch oscars. They need to travel in a car for 4-5 hours depending on traffic. After some research, I was still getting mixed information about how long fish can last in a bag (less water, more air) without added pure Oxygen. My plan was to bag them all up individually and put them in a cooler or styrofoam box. Weather is cold where I am right now.
Would they last this long in the bags without pure Oxygen?

The biggest problem with 6-8" oscars in bags may be them puncturing holes in the bags with their dorsal and anal spines and water leaking out.
If it were me, I'd bring a separate large enough bucket with a cover for each, or maybe two if two would fit in one bucket.
The road movement should keep water oxygenated, but I usually use a battery operated air pump or two just to be safe.
If you have tanks with filters going, a snippet of seeded sponge or filter media gores a long way to eating up excess ammonia in each bucket.

Ive transported 75cm silverarowana for 7 hours in an styrofoam box. No problems at all.

did you use an air pump/stone?

Yeah as i had an rentalcar filled with 14 styrfoamboxes with more or less an half fortune worth of fish i did use an converter and an hiblow hp80 airpump running stones one all the boxes.
