On Sunday I'll be transporting a 180 on a lorry, with wooden stand and wooden hood.

what would be the best way to do it? Put the tank on the stand and strap it? Or have them all seperate and put bubble wrap on the tank etc?

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

If the lorry ( or van ) would fit the tank and stand , then try to get movers rags or blankets to separate the stand from the aquarium itself. That should be enough protection as long as the driver doesnt drive like a maniac as the tank would be so heavy that it would hardly move.

If it wont fit, put the stand on the roof and strap it. I did that last week and it worked quite well.

I would separate them and wrap the glass tank. If you leave them together you risk vibrations between the stand/canopy and tank, and this is not good. I always move tanks separate from stands, unless they are built together (say like a plywood tank).

ok thanks for the replies, so definitely seperate them? It would be no good to sit the tank on the stand and strap it?

I would seperate them.

the less the tank flexes the better. I would seperate them too and pad the tank well.
