i moved my 2 oscars from my 55 which they have been in for about a month into my new 125... and they are acting weird, they are staying in the corner and they turned very pale...

are they just stressed out???

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Yeah. It could be a week or more before they behave normally. They hate change. Mine did the same pouting act. They'll snap out of it.

I am, of course, assuming you used dechlorinated water and understand how to cycle a tank, etc.

I have noticed my oscars get lighter in color if the ph drops, you could check that also.

Lights off is a good idea. The stress goop is probably not necessary, but won't hurt, either.

PH is always a concern. I have to buffer my tanks with crushed coral or else the water drops to 6.4 and lower within days. It comes out of the tap at 7.2-7.4, but degases pretty quickly with filtration. My early efforts with fishkeeping were daunting until I got this figured out.

As said before check your water perams and if they are ok it's probably typical Oscar sulking. :grinno:

i do not know the correct way to cycle water, i did chlorinate it.

and i usualy wait a 2 weeks with the tank all set up and running with no fish, then i test the water and if all is well i start to add fish.

what is the correct way to cycle water?

o and sometimes i will squeeze out one of my filter cartridges in the new tank water to get some good bacteria goin
