I may be getting a couple of motoros and it will be about a 7 hour car ride. If I get them, a cooler would be the best option for transport right. Also would it be wise to get a battery operated air pump. I will be getting two so one per cooler would be wise right. They are both close to 12in in diameter so how well do you think they would be at traveling. I have never transported rays before so any other tips or ideas on this would be really helpfull.

Thanks

they will be fine with a 7hr trip just get the seller not to feed them 2 days before you pick them up get him to send you a vid of them feeding before you buy them then you wont need to see them feeding when you pic them up

take a bat pump just in case you get delayed

You'll be fine. Take along a battery operated pump, some extra water and an extra rubbermaid container just in case. You will also want to keep some towels in the car to catch spillage.

What are you going to keep them in at the house? How big is your tank? Where are you picking up mature motoros?

I am picking up the stingrays in Wisconsin in the beginning of April. I'm trading my African cichlids for them. Supposedly they are a pair but from the pictures they both look like females. The supposed male is 12in and the other is 10in and at that size should you be able to claspers from above. Cause on the pictures I saw of them I didn't see claspers on either. When I get them they will be going in a 90gl for a short time until I get my bigger tank, which will be 8'x4'x2'. So they will be happy when I get them in that tank. I know a 90gl is really to small for a short time but it is better then the 75gl she has them in now.

Also thanks for the help everyone.

Yeah that 90 is too small....I would mayeb talk to the owner and see bout letting him keep them til you get your tank set up for them if its real soon(which I hope so)....that 90 wont be good for too long of a time for them at that size.....anything else in that tank with them?
