I got asked by my gradeschool to go in and talk about reptiles, bringing in specimens as well.

What would be the safest way to take a leopard gecko, ball python, and blue tongued skink out of my house, keep them contained at the school for 1-2 hours, and bring them home. I was thinking pillowcase for the snake and maybe a shoebox for the lizards? Sound good?

I do something similar 1-2 times a year. I normally bag the snakes in pillowcases. I also bag my Savannah Monitor in a pillowcase as otherwise he gets grumpy. I put the iguana in something like a rubbermaid/sterlite bin. I normally do this with the other animals as well once we get there, to make it easier to take them out and put them away.

i used a pillowcase for my blue tounge skink. for the leopard gecko just use a large tupperware with paper towel. the python would prolly be alright in a pillow case too, just make sure they are all warm enough.

EDIT: got post sniped giving almost the same info lol.

Could you have your parents bring them in right before you need them. That would be best, have all your stuff they need to get them ready then have them grab and bring them in. Or get some kind of pass to leave school to retrieve them then comeback with them.

I do talks at schools pretty often. Snakes are in pillowcases, lizards in individual critter keepers. large enough for them to stand and turn around but not anything huge and bulky

if you can, put everything in a cooler to keep the temps from changing too much. Especially with the cooler weather now. just poke a few air holes but not so many as to let the warmth out. That is how I transport most everything- bags and deli cups in a cooler.

I have Friday off, I'm going to my elementary/middle school (I'm in highschool now) to give a talk to some 3rd through 6th graders.

Alright, cooler it is.

cooler will deff work better for temp swings, than my original tote idea. i hadnt thought about how cool it could be where you are.
