Trasnporting fish

Get a battery powered air pump.

You could also do small water changes.

It would be possible. Just don't feed the fish you are moveing for at least two days so as they can clear out their systems. This way they don't fowl the water.

If you ever go to a fish auction, fish can end up being in bags for 8 hours or more. I had a friend buy 5 discus at an auction and they were in a bag probably for 12 hours or more and they all did fine.

But if you can pick up a battery operated pump it would be a good idea. Plus it is good to just have one or more for power outages, acclimateing, ect.

Get a converter you can use it for many things after your done with the move.. No need to waste your money on a battery powered pump when you can spend close to the same or a little more for something you can use more than once :)

i dunno, it depends how big the fish is. if you're keeping a guppy then i'd say hell yeah. If you're keeping a monster then no

:iagree: Get something you will use again; DC/AC Power Inverters are not expensive & you will wonder how you lived without one. Most new cars come with AC outlets.

For the people saying no, use an airpump etc, you do realize that fish are shipped sometimes 24 hours or more overnight, and most survive? With no aeration or filter :)

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Sure a pump wouldnt hurt, but is it really necessary?
