Denver, Colorado
ill be moving to Denver Colorado soon from Longview Tx and i have the following fish id like to take with me

1 2 inch firemouth
2 2 inch EBJDs
1 2 1/2 inch Senegal Bichir
2 2 inch chinese algae eaters
2 1-2 inch black kuhli loaches

i have a 5 gallon bucket and im probably going to get one more, i have an airetor to use for the trip there, and im going to put in some hiding spots for the ones who need to hide it will probably take us about 1 to 2 days on the road with the trucks and probably another few hours until i can get the aquarium set up again, any ideas? or anything i can put in their water to help them avoid stress?

I travel from Rhode Island to Kansas with salt water fish for my tank. Pick up a power converter that plugs into your trucks power point to run an areator. Note to self DO NOT PUT ROCKS IN WITH YOUR FISH, I found this out hte hard way and had smashed fish that funked up the water and lost everything I had collected.

make some water changes on the road if you can. and this is a no brainer, but make sure to treat the water. being on the road you really have no idea whats in the water you change it out with. oh and dont feed them that day. fish can regurgitate their food in HIGH stress moments, and the vomit is terrible for the water

bring a bottle of dechlorinator

yeah i have a small java rock with plants on top of it (fake decoration) and i was probably going to stick that in there but that would be it
i might put in some ich medicine, some people say that would help them out a littlebit, my airator is battery powered but i also have an adaptor already for the truck so that shouldnt be a problem, the live plants i ahve i dont really care if they die i was probably going to throw them away before i left anyways,

Mmm I wouldn't put in ich meds...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Go to Walmart and buy a 30gal grey plastic/rubber bin for $6. Also I'd put your old gravel/sand in there as well to keep old bacteria. GL

Also do a waterchange 1 day before you leave and DO NOT feed them 1 day before you leave. Dont do water changes along the way, trust me how hard will it be to do a water change. Also 1-2 days not 1-2 weeks drive time.

Remember this do as you would shipping fishes (you're in better scenario, no enclosed bag) Fast them 1-2 days ahead so no Crap=no Ammonia. You dont even need an aerator (having one is major plus). Get the Stress med to put in container and you're set. Also Do Not feed them on the trip. Fishes that get shipped are fasted 1-2 and shipped priority 2-4 days and survive in enclosed bag. You have open air and aerator, so your fish can live 2-3 weeks in that container.

oh ok, ill look into the container, ive never seen them at walmart before so maybe i missed them, i was going to use their water from their aquarium right now and do a water change before i left, but your right im not going to feed them before i go, the bichir im not as concerned about since it has a lung to breathe air lol
ill look into the stress med too
this wont be will middle of september probably
