Still trying to get ahead of these worms. Lost one fish already, others are eating medicated food for internal parasites. I've gone way past the recommended treatment options and still having clear bits of stringy poop. Havnt seen another worm since I lost a fish to it. The only inhabitant not eating the medicated food is the pleco. Would that contagious to the other fish if they dont have worms in their system anymore? I've been dealing with this for far too long and have run out of ideas aside from draining everything and starting fresh.

of course the pleco could have gotten infected from eating eggs. Well it depends on the type of Callamanus worm. Some have direct life cycles others do not. I still stand with my recommendation of treating the water with levamisole.

I am pretty sure I treat at a 100mg per 10g. would have to double check to be sure

I got my hands on some strong anti worm medication from a marine biologist friend of my parents, havnt seen any issues since my last post here. Pleco has been removed to a 10gal tank, cat is alone in the main tank.

To be honest I have no idea, he just gave me a nice big sqiurt in a small portable container for me. Its a cream you spread on/soak the food in.

i would find out. Chances are it is prazi or fenbendazole which won't work. Unless he said specifically it is for camallanus.
