I have had this pickerel for roughly a week, and it has developed fin rot. I know that medications are usually developed for tropical fish, and could be dangerous for Native fish, so what would be my best course of action?

I have used quick cure at half dose on my natives before to cure fin rot.

alright pedro.. i dont know what happened to the guy, he arrived with a bit of white on the bottom of his tail..after a few days I ID'd it as fin rot, and today I noticed it spread to one of his forefins. Quick cure, half dose. Is here need for a temperature boost and/or salt?

I just half dose tank on the first day. Then do 20% water change the next day. On third day dose half dose again. The 20% water change and add carbon to filter on fourth day.Should clear it up.

Okay sounds good! I will try that!

Day 1: dosed the 110 gallon with 22 tablespoons of aquarium salt, and added a full dose (11 teaspoons) of Kordon Rid Ick Plus Disease Treatment. (Couldn't find Quick Cure in a nearby location). I figure with this assortment, I can rid the tank of fin rot if its cause is a parasite or bacteria. The salt would cause a parasite to die, while the Kordon would kill a bacteria-based infection.

Day 2: Did a 50% water change on the tank. The fish still displays signs of fin rot. The tail fin still has a milky white spot of deteriorating flesh, hopefully this wasnt supposed to disappear by now. Planning on dosing the tank once again tomorrow, half dose this time.

It will take a few days for it to clear up. If you don't see any signs of improvement after a week I would repeat the process.

Day 3: woke up and turned my tank light on, the pickerel is laying motionless on the bottom of the tank. still alive, but inactive.

hopefully this does clear up, although it currently isnt looking so good =(
