I put some ich meds in tonight at half the usual dosage, but I've been reading that you can just raise the temp and/or add salt... but I have plants in my tank! Will raising the temp be bad for the plants? The ich hasn't gotten too bad - just a few white spots, but I would like to take care of it while there are only a few. The tankmates are bichirs, Ctenopoma, african butterfly fish, various livebearers (who are probably the culprits) and plants. I did have 2 snails in there, but I took them out since the meds said it might harm crustaceans.
Any suggestions on what to do?

Depends on how much salt you use. I use 1 tsp of salt and my plants are thriving!

But yeah quarentining would be best. That or remove plants while you medicate your tank. Keep them in an airated bucket or another tank.
