I think my silver dallors ended up with ick from the ghost shrimp i have been feeding my stingrays. My rays are healthy and so are the ID sharks that are in the same tank. What is the best way to treat ich that wont harm the rays or the cat fish? I dont have a hospitle tank big enough for 6 4 to 6 inch silver dollars.

seachems paragaurd works perfect in these situations.....

paraguard how much to dose half or regular dose? also added salt temps at 82 and holding.

paraguard can be used full dose

Raise temp to 86-88 and add salt, the heat is what kills it off quickly

:iagree:

Why do people think they get ich from feeders or other fish?

It happens.....I personally think it's temp fluctuations or keeping at too low of a temp.

ALL TANKS HAVE ICH!

Unless you are running like some industrial UV sterilization equipment on your tank, you will always have ich in it.

Ich is easily fought off when a fish has a healthy immune system so that is why we dont see it on our fish all the time. However stressors like, bad water quality, shipping, a bullying tank mate, or other infection will lower the fish's natural fighting abilities and make it possible to get ich.
