I've been growing out a group of HRPs that I got from Rapps - growth has been very slow. The fish are very skittish and I've noticed swollen bellies on a couple. Yesterday I saw a long whitish poop coming from my largest fish(first time I've noticed this). I've been feeding live blackworms as a treat and maybe my fish picked up something? I'd like to do a worming treatment. What does everyone recommend?

A combination of praziquantel and metrizodonale treament over a two week period. Get prazipro and seachem metrizodonale. Follow the dosing instructions.

Ok thanks. About all I was finding for treament info was medicated flake & the HRPs only nibble at flake food.

I've used an Epsom salt treatment that was recommended to me.

Get 1 cup of tank water, and add two tablespoons of Epsom Salt and mix it up to dissolve. Add your flake or pellet food to the salt mix and let it sit for 10-15 mins to soak it up. Then feed the food to the fish and discard the water mix. Think need to do it for 3 or 5 days, every feeding.

I've used this on angelfish and on african cichlids. I don't see why it wouldn't work on CA cichlids as well.

I've got some epsom salt at home - I'll give that a shot tonight. I'll update this thread with results. Still plan on giving them the metro & prazi treatment too though.
