Treatment for white worms?

Planaria?

No meds necessary, better mech filtration, more WCs?

Sounds like planaria. Caused by over feeding or uneaten food stuck in filters. It is a pain to clear up. You need to make sure you are on top of you tank maintenance and filter cleaning. I had this and it took about 6 months to get rid of. They are harmless but are a sign something is wrong.

I agree planaria, make sure all food is taken out if they rays dont eat it, they are caused by an over abundance of left over nutriants in the water. Get some geos or some fronts to put in ur tank... when they are small they will eat the planeria

Would like to know Nitrate readings.

Sounds like you and the planaria are on different pages concerning "plenty" of WCs. Can you tell us what "plenty" is?
My planaria told me that even 50% 3-4 times a week isn't enough if the media isn't clean.

I'd strongly suggest re-evaluating the mechanical media. Again, it seems like there are several cases floating around where several filters are being used making a strict cleaning regimen very difficult. A few filters get overlooked and crud up, then all of a sudden 50% wcs don't have near the effect they should cause the clean water is just running through dirty filters. WCs become irrelevant if they become a result of a cause that's overlooked.

Can't stress the importance of designing a system that allows for EASY swapping of mechanical media.... The easier it is the less you put it off.

Just .02 from someone that doesn't have as good of water parameters as everyone else here..... ;)

33-50% weekly. Filters: FX5 & 30 gallon sump on a 270 gallon tank. I always thought planaria were flat & slid along the glass wall. These little worms swim & wriggle freely in the water and are driving me nuts.

:WHOA: What you mean you dont have 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and 0 nitrates? oh i mean now its 10 nitrates um i must have read that test wrong
oh and you asked what my ph was didnt you..... well thats good too.

who dosent have perfect readings these days? :grinno:

dont forget i have the best tank mates too for my rays. pleco's, puffers, bichers, oh and of course a couple sharp rusty kitchen knives. who dosent keep those right?

and the substrate let me tell you what. a genius idea :headbang2i just redid my roof and had all these extra nails. wow does it look good. psh who said sharp things were bad for rays.....

sorry guys its late and i was just thinking about what the best ray post would look like so i thought i better share but im with you db i keep fish in my water also. i think everyone has had a case of planaria in their fish keeping experiences learning how to prevent it is key.
