Does anyone here have experiance with Tree Boas? are there some that are more hardy than others? what Kind o f special care do they need, what size enclosure?

also are there any that are under 300 dollars?

Also, The More Complete Chondro by greg maxwell is a great book.

Which species of tree boa are you looking to into? Emeralds, Amazons, Mandrita?
Theres quite a few.

Morelia viridis, the Yapen variety. They do seem to be pretty high in price compared to emeralds so I might just get an Emerald

Morelia is not a tree Boa, but a Green Tree Python.

You probably know this but if you buy a GTP under a year old and its sold as sexed, DO NOT BUY IT. GTP that are under a year old are very fragile, and even after a year old are still fragile and sexing can damage there spines/tails.

I'd recommend a well established yearling.
Frantz Herp has '08 Biak x Aru for $425 right now, A pure '08 Biak for $475, and a Yapen for $500

Well i guess its going to have to wait... because that is a little out of my league right now... Plus I still need to persuade my landlord that a snake is not going to hunt him down and kill him... I guess in the mean time I can get some books to read and learn All I can before taking the plunge on a 400 dollar pet : )

I've seen emeralds for $350 or so.
You could probably get a nice one for $300, emerald pricing is based mostly off of the amount of white on the animal.

I bred these guys back in 03 while a senior in highschool, kept the adults in large rubbermaid tubs, with cypress mulch bedding, large water bowls, branches, and fake vines, and a 75watt spot lamp. They gave me these gorgeous little guys out of two garden phase parents... they're pretty straight forward and simple...

Yeah, Amazon Tree boas for the win! Super easy to keep as well, especially compared to ETBs.
