Tree for a Tank

Has anyone actually grown a tree with tank water feeding the roots? I've had some friends grow mangroves very successfully out of their tanks and they just trim the tree when it gets to large. I'm considering the same thing only with a Sycamore Tree instead. The tank I'd be growing it out of would be a 75 gallon with a temperature of 66-76 F. Any thoughts or experiences?

Do you mean the roots sitting in the water?

Many many moons ago I live in my apartment and would do wc weekly well the water was dumped on a outdoor plant that plant grew so big so fast it was crazy

i am about to try some bald cypresses. i know they grow in the swamps with the roots completely submerged.

They grow by water though, they're all over the place on the edges of my creeks. I'd have the tree in a large pot outside the tank so just the roots would be in the water.

Oh. Any you'd recommend? I'm thinking I might just do a mangrove at this point.

Me sense im in cali i can collect manzanita all day and it looks great. but mangrove and manzanita atre your best bet
