He looks fat and content but seems to lay flat more often lately instead of sitting more upright like he used to. He is about one year old, so maybe he's just getting tired. Do mature frogs get lazier than growing ones? His arms are nice and straight, and he can move quickly when he wants to. He also gets one of his crickets dusted with calcium and vitamin D once or twice per week. His crickets are gut-loaded with Tetra Colorbits. I was feeding him mealworms but quit about two weeks ago. Should I add them back into the rotation? Any other thoughts?

It is that time a year when the days are shorter and cold blooded herps become more sluggish. What species of tree frog are we talking about here and how warm is the tank you keep it in?

Local frog, so local temps. I can't tell you what it is as per forum rules. I didn't know what species it was, since I caught it as a tadpole. But I will tell you he's famous for his ribbit and extremely abundant here in the Northwest.

He's got flowing water, fully cycled in the bottom inch of his tank, then rocks supporting a platform he walks on. He's got a pothos plant and sticks to climb on, and ribbits regularly if that's any sign of health.

The seasonal thing makes sense.

Ahhh.....gotcha...I know the species. I really wouldn't worry about it much because it probably is just a seasonal thing. If the frog is kept in a room with a window, it will take notice to the amount of day light coming in and will adjust to it. When the days become longer it should start to become more active.

i dont know the species :(
pm me? :)
