I didnt see anything posted about this and felt like I should....
Most have probably seen this in the news ... On July 5th at 2:00 am a tragic thing happened at the Ticketing and Transit Center of Walt Disney World.
A series of mishaps caused the crash of two disney monorails. Pink was to switch tracks to take the monorail into the shop. Purple was next in line. The switch never happened and Pink went backwards on the same rail as Purple meeting just between the ticketing center and the monorail concourse.

The Driver, Austin Wuennenberg, lost his life. Here is a video showing the aftermath of this crash.
There was a family of 6 in the purple monorail in the car directly behind the cockpit. They were treated for minor injuries and released.
There was alot of speculation about the cause of this but one thing really interesting came out of the NTSB reports today. Austins Purple Monorail was in REVERSE. This 21 year old young man could have jumped from the monorail maybe breaking a leg being only 15 feet above the ground at this point but he stopped his monorail and tried to get going in reverse to protect the family that was behind him. That to me is a TRUE hero.
The family that was in the car behind him tried to repay the favor. One of them was a Miami Dade Firefighter and along with another west palm Firefighter they tried to get to Austin to see if they could save him but he was killed instantly on impact.
This brave young man gave his life so this family could live. You cannot ask for more of a HERO in this day and age than that.
His funeral was today. May he rest in peace.
