Some of you guys may know my Peninsula Ribbon Snake, Clyde. Clyde had scale rot, and up until last night seemed to be improving. But last night, he stopped moving his tongue. He had clearly lost weight, and most of his ventral scales were missing. He also appeared to be salivating a lot. This morning, I went to his cage to check on him, and I saw the faintest wiggle of a tail, and then stillness. Unfortunetaly, he's gone. He was my first Reptile, I got him as a Christmas present last year. I feel like he was in his prime... he was eating well, he had a lot of weight on him, and he handled beautifully. He was alert, and practically shined with luster, yet he was docile and never bit or musked.
Just figured I'd let you guys know. RIP buddy.
I'm gonna do my best to give back, and rescue a Garter or Ribbon that needs a home somewhere. But for now, I'm still kinda dealing with this.
