I've had IT's that are on and off with their stableness, and I have AT's who stayed darker than mikeal pietrus. Last night, I made a custom piping for my FX5 for the blow valve which pumps a ridiculous water current in the bottom that is causing all these fishes getting blown away from the center piece driftwood where they usually hide, because of this they have to swim against it.

I noticed a huge difference right away because all my dats became stable!! When I woke up this morning I saw that they were still stable. It seems like Datnoids like a strong water current just like the clown loaches. I highly recommend to try this trick for everyone that has unstable datnoids and datnoid owners.

Great news! Real test will be after a few weeks or months . Keep us posted, will be interested in an update soon.

i think it is true also, i had an 2 in AT in a 30g without much current, and then put him in my 100g which has alot of current and he his stable all the time now and never hides, he swims around the entire tank trying to buddy up with the convicts

Very interesting,I noticed in some of Datnoid101's recent pictures there were return tubes in his tanks that were positioned just inches from the bottom of the tank and I can imagine how strong the current must be.

I've have power heads and return tubes from canister filters that produces strong current but no change in stableness. Must be a regional trick

And even he has unstable tigers.:nilly:

for me tiger stability is a hit and miss trick... one trick may work for me but may not work for you....

I guess when you reposition your return tube downwards, it made your water circulation much better..because all the waste product stays at the bottom so having the current at the bottom of the tank stired it up and did not allowed the byproduct to pile up. therefore improving your water quality.... dats really love clean water....

remember the blue back ground trick also??? for some it does work but for some it does not.... because aside from the external color, with or without current you still have to consider your water chemistry and filtration.... likewise some say that dats like subdued lighting but you can see some dats that swim around the tank with a very bright aquarium light....

sounds sweet but is it okay for my stingray? maybe i'll ask the ray guys...great heads up

Thats a neat trick ill have to try it, although i believe it really has alot to do with the datnoid itself.....keep updating us on how there doing
