trim help

You can order replacement trim from a pet store, the tank sounds like a pretty standard size. Do you know what brand it is? You may be able to order from the manufacturer. Generally, I just rip the old trim off, scrap the remaining silicone with a razor blade or puddy knife, then glue a new one down with aquarium silicone.

if you have a nice woden stand you could by trim from a hardware store stain it to match and fasten to to the tank, the trim is not structual so no worries there

I beg to differ. That is not a wise bundle of advice to be passing around. A 72" frame does add structural support. If you look at the center "brace" it is much thicker than the rest of the trim. When mine gave out on my 125 due to the heat of the lights, my tank bowed out considerably. :WHOA: I wound up temporarily supporting it with a wood working clamp, untill I got my replacement frame. I had to drain the tank half way to get the new one on. I'd say that is a "structural" issue.

Look around the bottom of the tank, through the bottom panel. You should be able to find a manufacture label.
If it's perfecto (it will have an anchor sticker) Call 1-800-241-7485
If it's a 125 with a center brace, let me know. I can save you a lot of trouble. I'll dig up the part # and you won't even have to call them.

If it's All-Glass call 1-800-255-4527.

What you do is call the manufacture and get the part #. They won't sell to you so after you get the part # find a LFS who will order it for you through their wholesaler.

I hope that helps. Let me know if it's perfecto.

Joel

go to a upvc or plastic stockist that supply trims to double glazing companies they do wood grain trims light dark and red wood from 19mm wide to 95mm they are all 6mm wide and bullnosed edges on 1 edge and square on the other. (bullnose = rounded)
