Trimac Cichlid

This is my juvenile Trimac cichlid! This is my biggest one (the male) I will be keeping as a wet pet... Tell me what you think!

Directly behind his gills is starting to turn slightly red and his tail has red on it, but the red streaks are a reflection from something.

Maybe it's just me, but this doesn't look like a Trimac. Looks more like an oddly shaped low-grade Flowerhorn. I could certainly be wrong, but my gut is telling me you don't have a pure Trimac here. Maybe some other members can chime in.

Trimacs are another fish I won't buy unless they from a reputable source, unfortunately your fish doesn't look like a trimac....

Maybe it's just me, but this doesn't look like a Trimac. Looks more like an oddly shaped low-grade Flowerhorn. I could certainly be wrong, but my gut is telling me you don't have a pure Trimac here. Maybe some other members can chime in.

There are 4 other trimacs and a Flowerhorn. I got them from my Lfs here in Michigan. every other fish I've gotten from him has been F1, not sure but I'd love to know what they truly are if they're not trimacs!

He does look a little of, unless you get them from a reputable breeder it's hard to be 100% on them now days.

How old is yours? Mine are still young so I'm wondering if that's why people are questioning it? Also could he not be colored up because of all other fish in the tank? I just really want more info on this fish, please share with me!
