A few months ago I got a young little trimac from TUIC, turned out to be a female I believe. A couple of weeks ago, I added some more, also from TUIC. They came in lookin good and strong as usual. They were also silver in coloration, as opposed to to female I bought a few months ago. She has a lot more color, a green overall color, with a red belly and brighter red eyes. I think she may have been silver when I got her too, don't quite remember, the color changes can be subtle and catch you by surprise.
Here is an example of the older one with the new ones, easy to tell the difference.
The new ones have been in there over a week, they don't act scared. I wonder if diet has to do with it. I feed my fish a large variety; Hikari Cichlid Bio Gold, NLS, Omega One Cichlid pellets and flakes, Tetra Color and Tetra Cichlid flakes, freeze dried and frozen krill, HBH Super Soft krill pellets, bloodworms, frozen mysis, and probably more.
It will be fun for me to see if the new ones will match the old one in color over time. I'll post pics when I see a change. Come to think of it, I may have a pic of the older Trimac when I first got her, I should try to find it.
