I know black spots on the dorsal are not a 100% sure way to sex a trimac but would this be intense enough to be considered to be a black blotch or do I need to give it more time to tell if it will intensify or go away? This fish is 2-2.25" and out of the 8 grow outs I have is untouched as far as color goes. Some of the other juvies have more defined blotches but this one is almost in the middle.. Are there any other signs at this size(or later)that could indicate sex? (other than venting)
