Hey guys Im feeding my trimac some Hikari cichlid-staple the stuff in the green bag. And I was wondering what is a better food to feed my trimac? He gets some cucumber every now and then because thats what I feed the pleco. But I am going to get him some Bio-gold hopefully this week. But any other suggestions that I can give him so he can get some really nice colors?

Thanks, Jay

That pellet would be suitable. You could try a little better quality pellet like Omega One or New Life Spectrum. Feed the pellets as the main staple of the diet and add variety like the cucumber, spinach, earthworms, krill, shrimp, crickets, roaches, meal worms. There are many more options than this but a good variety of parasite and pesticide free items are the key. What you feed may just depend on how much money you want to spend on your pet. I have a small amount of money for fish food so I feed a good pellet, earthworms from the back yard, cut fish, some veggies, and occasionally live crickets or freeze dried krill.
