My Trimac pair has eggs! Male is an F2 Rio Naranja from Cavamart and I just picked up my little female(COA)from Ruck Fules. Male is a typical hyper aggressive Trimac so I put a divider in his tank with a hole cut for the female and left it up to her if she wanted to deal with him as he's 10" and she's only 6.5". Within ten minutes after having the hole cut she went right in and they've been like an old married couple ever since. Yesterday I got home from work and noticed they have probably 600-800 eggs on a piece of granite in their nest. They're in an 80 gallon to themselves but I'm in the process of building a 130gallon with a large footprint just for them so they should be in that tank in the next couple weeks.
Here's a couple pics of their introduction and yesterday's egg discovery. The first pics te tank was dirty and just got done with a water change so there's sediment in the water column and in the pics of the eggs lights were on moonlight setting because the male DOES NOT like te bright T5s since the females been in there. Thanks for looking

Thanks CK. Yeah the male is a stud. I actually only picked up the female on Saturday so she hadn't even really showed her true colors before she went into breeding dress.

Little update: About 10% of the eggs turned white but as of right now, the good eggs are in the middle of hatching and mama is stashing her new "wrigglers" behind one of the boulders in the tank. Not too bad for their first try. Now I'm just hoping both parents protect the fry and don't decide to eat them.

i think by this time u should separate the male from female as he may get very protective of the wrigglers and can even eat them thinking that he is protecting them but it is depends on specimens nature and congrats for wrigglers and we need some update pics.

I think I'm gonna try to leave them all together unless I see any signs of aggression. As the eggs were hatching this morning mom Trimac was hiding the fry and dad was doing a pretty good job at guard duty and leaving mom and fry alone.
Ill try to get some pics tonight after work. :-)
