How soon are you able to tell the females from the males? got a group of fry growning out and only looking to keep a couple females and a male

I bought a 2.5" male and female from Rapps a few years ago and they were easily sexable at that small size. They even spawned at about 3".

They are easly sexable by 2" with the female having a dark spot on the dorsal fin. I've had many spawns when I had my pair with no diffaculty sexing at that size.

Like most cichlids, The males will grow faster than females and most females will have the dorsal spot.
