There is no way to tell if what you have is a trimac or low-grade flowerhorn. Assume flowerhorn, as it came from PetsMart.

There is no way to tell if what you have is a midas or red devil. Assume mix.

:iagree:

FHs and trimacs now are sometimes indistinguishable, which is very sad. there's so much mixed ancestry for FHs that you never know what you are getting.

as for red devils - there's so much inter mixing between labiatus (red devils) and citrinellus (midas) that you can't really tell anymore.
they look nice and orange though ;)

its a tri-mac and looks more likes a midas but i think its a midas/RD

Heres my midas for an example

i think that the first one is a trimac and i really think those are rds, rds tend to have longer snouts than midas, or is it the other way around?

Yea looked more into it, and RDs have the long snouts and large lips. so theyre prolly more towards the RD side if theyre RDxMidas. Guess i can never b sure:irked:

By the way King Midas very nice midas u have there. looks great:thumbsup:

based on the lips and long snout of the rd/midas, it looks as though there may be a little more red devil than midas in the mix, but I agree it is most likely a mix. i would also agree, based on the fact its from petsmart, the first fish is just a low grade flowerhorn. either way, all of them are cool looking fish, and looks like you're taking great care of the devils....keep up the good work
