Are this little guys Trimac or low grade FH? The idiot lady sold them to me as JD's 3 for $10. Lol I think their Trimac's but not sure. Hard to tell.ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1344821842.246418.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1344821858.857461.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1344821876.241791.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1344821894.295565.jpg

They are still stressed but they have red on the bottom sort of and the Trimac eye spots.

When I first saw them I thought for sure Trimac but after I got home I wasn't sure. I have a 3" Trimac I got from J. Rapps that's a stunner and these look similar to it when it was smaller. Not sure though.

I've had a barred female. But 99.9% are your typical green and red. They look trimac to me but there's no way to know for sure unless your source is reliable. Thats the problem with not knowing. If you end up selling them label them as flowerhorns then no damage will be done to the pure strains.

Does the store where you bought them, get fish from quality sources? If they are not known to,I would not think pure.plus the sales lady could not ID a JD? That is pretty basic

I agree with Virgil. The source of the fish is important. Sometimes FHs and Trimacs can look nearly identical. If you have to question it or you don't have a verified source, consider it a FH. The fact that the employee can't distinguish between a JD and a Trimac is a good sign that you don't have a true Trimac. Ask the store where they received the fish. Maybe a hobbyist brought them in. That's one way to find out a little more about what you have.
