The more pics I see of these the more I want one.

Do males and females get the same coloring and at what age can you start to tell the sex? Also besides Rapps does anybody know of any other good vendors that breed/sell TRUE trimacs?

Not sure of any other vendors but you can tell their age fairly early. By a couple of inches, the female will develop a black blotch in her dorsal fin.

I have heard alot about shark aquarium but have no personal experience with them... I prefer not to order fish - too expensive and risky. I like my lfs. IF they don't have it - I don't need it.

Just go Rapps or ask your LFS if they can order or hold some if someone brings them in, my lfs is real good about that.

My LFS is to scared to order anything special,they say you have to buy the whole batch(not just 1 fish)they are to scared of getting stuck with the extra fish.

Snake Eyes where do you live? I am sure people can recommend a place for you to go. If you live in MN I would recommend Forest Lake Pets they usually have most anything any one could ever want or they can get it in. They have and electric catfish there.

I live in Nebraska. I don't trust my LFS for ordering the not so average fish, I've asked them about ordering polys before and gave them the scientific name and got nothing but a back. They said their list is common names only and I have no doubt that if I were to tell them the trimacs common name I would get sent a flowerhorn.

After some searching Keystone Aquatics (vendor here) apparently has fry from a Rapps breeding pair.

Yeah keystone is a great place to deal with....Or rapps would be your best bets....On ne thing quality that is....
