Trimacs spawned three days ago!

I got this pair of trimacs from Jason in Alaska less than a month ago. I was away in Chicago for a few dyas and when I got home found that the female was guarding eggs inside the pot in the picture. Thanks Jason, they are doing well.

The male was chasing the female a bit when I first got them. After a week, it calmed down when he finally decided to eat the food I was offering. They have been very good together, but I still have a divider handy. He tends to feast before she gets much of the food.

The male is about 7" SL and the female is much smaller at 3" SL. He is a thick brute and I was actually a bit surprised by their size difference when I first unpacked them.

I'll get some more pictures posted, I have some on my other computer.

Update: They are leading a swarm of free swimming fry around the 75 gallon tank, maybe over 800 fry. Pictures from a couple of days ago when the fry emerged from inside the pot.
