I just had to tear apart my 135 planted. I'm rebuilding a new 100 planted. My question is... Do I trim the roots of the sword plants? They are very long. Up to 12 inches on some of them. If the answer is yes...how long should they be?

Why would you want to trim the roots in the first place? You could if u wanted to but they will grow back eventually.

I cut my roots off my plants when I replant them. Just leave a couple or three inches and they should be fine.
