My water sprite is taking over one of my tanks.. How can i affectively trim it so i can replant the trimmed pieces?

Thanks

you can just replant the tops, they should root pretty quick. Or you can leave them floating until aerial roots develop and plant then.

If i understand right, i can just cut them where ever?

yes i think water sprite can grow a whole new plant from a cutting. even a single leaf. i would say the bigger cutting the better chance of success.

if you allow the plant to grow large enough the some leaves should naturally grow little roots and break off.

Man, these things grow fast and big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just planted another 3 tanks from the one tank i had. I started with a fist full about 3 months ago and now i have about 2 footballs of it!

yeah it gets out of control quick but its really nice to give less dominant fish cover. And yes they will grow from any size clipping i have found. A good trick is to cut of a branch and anchor both ends down by rock, so it is sitting parallel with your tank bottom. The smaller branches from the one large branch will inevitably start there own large branch and you will have a clean row of sprite. I hoped that made sense
