I suddenly remembered triops existed.
You know the little horseshoe crab-like critters that remind everyone of facehuggers..

Is it possible to keep them in an aquarium with fish/anything else? I would imagine they are very vulnerable.. Anyone have any ideas, suggestions for a tank set up? Filtration? I'd like to give this a try one day because I miss having them. Beats sea monkeys any day.

You can keep them with small, peaceful, fast-moving fish like guppies or small tetras, but not much else. If it's small and slow, the Triops will try to eat it.

As long as you don't have really powerful currents the filtration shouldn't be an issue. You might want to keep the filter intake well above the substrate.

yea thats what ive heard to the triops are predatory.

thats the question i have been wondering ever since I purchased a triop egg packet on impulse and been waiting for my CPO to die off or my last betta rutlian in their nano tanks- not in any hurry to find out though :)

Cheers

Crayfish will probably eat the Triops. I don't know how they would interact with Amano shrimp, but I wouldn't risk putting them together. Wild Triops feed mainly on other small crustaceans, such as fairy shrimp, daphnia, and copepods.
