Tropical Fish in Winter Conditions

My friend is moving to Canada, we're wondering what sort of adjustments will be necessary to maintain a tropical fish aquarium under winter conditions?

Is this for an outside pond or something? I live in Canada, and as long as my house's heating is on and the tank's heaters are plugged in and set, it doesnt take anything special.

heating should be your main concearn, take the normal requirement and add a coupla watts to be safe.

I agree, I'm a few hours from Canada, our winters are the same. Never had to do anything special with my tanks. Are you planning on keeping them on the back deck or something?

I agree. A heater is what you need. Everything else should be the same, providing your are keeping the tank in room temperature.
