Does anyone keep tropical fish in their ponds during the summer or set up tubs for their tropicals outside? I know I'm planning to. I heard the fish get more color and breed more readily. This true?

im planning on keeping some cons in a pond through the winter just to see if it can be done.

Is there any issue with keeping the neighborhood wildlife out of a pond? Herons, raccoons, cats...?

I've kept Oscars and other cichlids. I'm near Chicago so we only have 5-6 months of keeping them outside. I just raise them to use as store credit trades. I've never tried to breed anything except the goldfish that are already in there.
