Tropical Gars in uk?

yeah funny enough i just went to a tropical pet shop today that i never even new existed until last night even though i have lived around this area all my life
anyway they had a tank full of differnt gars all around the 8" mark but i dont know if any of them are tropical gars all it says on the tank is that some of them get very big, they also had a lot of other fish that i have'nt seen in my local shops before (so i am very happy now).
doubt this will be any help for you though because i live in east yorkshire no where near you.
