Hi, i've just converted my pond to tropical with a BIG heater and want to put some baramundi in it. The pond is approx 4500L (1000 gal)
I put my 10" Tiger oscar in and he has doing fine (except for sulking)

Anyone had experience with baramundi and know if this is a good idea?

Well, you could catch them from the rivers and lakes and throw them in. Where abouts in Oz are you? Marybrough and above (Northern QLD) are all good places for bara.

Barra get 3 ft, so it may be a bit too small for them in the long run.

Bara are great fish to keep. As they get bigger they tend to settle doen a bit. If you oscar is in the tank before you put you barra in you shoudnt have a prob. I have 3 bristle noses in a tank ranging from 10cm to 20cm and he wont touch them for that reason. The barra is 48cm to so he could easily eat them just like he does to any other fish i have tried to put in the tank. Keeping them full or lowering temp over a week or 2 to around 24 degrees cel it may help. Damo.
