Is there anyway to have a tropical outdoor pond to survive the winter here? My girlfriend is obsessed with having a rtcxtsn n the only way it would work is if I made it outdoors

I know the summer it would be ok, just the winter is what I am worried about. Maybe if I put it in a greenhouse? Let me here your ideas/concerns. Would be a good spring/summer project

According to google you are about as far south as you can get in Ohio so that will help. I like the greenhouse Idea but you will want to have a lot of insulation between the ground and the pond liner. The ground will suck a lot of heat out of the water.

No basement, that's why I said my only real option was an outdoor pond.

Then a greenhouse is the best bet - but those are expensive to keep warm in the winter.
I have a rare and unusual plant business, and my fish are in my plant house, and they stay warm - BUT, because it is a traditional post and beam structure (not a greenhouse) it is cheap to keep warm with insulation.

A greenhouse is probably your best bet and to do some kind of above ground pond rather than sunken but it may get too hot in there in the summer.
