Anyone got an outdoor tropical pond in a temperate climate? I need some uberspace, and the only realistic way I can see to get it in the short term is an outdoor pond. Ideas?

I think Necro had one for his catfish?

No, sadly not, and I already have two in the house. This will need to be an insulated outdoor jobbie....

just make sure you insulate the hell outta it like double layer outside on top and under. if done right you may be able to maintain the temp with very little energy ,a gas heater being the cheapest solution.

I have tanks outside, with heaters in the winter ( do not ask me about eçlectricity bill )

Hey King Edward.

Can you bump this up against the house or a heated portion of the garage, then keep the filter & heater in there and just pump clean/heated water back out.

What do you have available for heating ? Gas, oil or electric?

Your going to need about 6" of Stryofoam all the way around, and you will have to vent the top.

use a greenhouse!

woha same idea's here hunny! i'm building one of these next year....against the garage...can't put it inside because its daddy's "space" escape from my mother lol...but the filter will be inside the garage. soooo yeah lol

lol only starting plans but yea....

the bottom will have insulation aswell ummm thinking about doing the inside outside with brick then wood...then insulation then wood with the pond insulator then pond liner... with glass
